【Sydney, Australia】MATSURI JAPAN FESTIVAL 2018

Machiya Residence Inn participated in this year’s MATSURI JAPAN FESTIVAL 2018 in Sydney, Australia!

MATSURI JAPAN FESTIVAL is one of Australia’s largest Japanese festivals – an annual event that was founded to celebrate the cross-cultural friendship between the two countries.

This years’ theme was Arigato~Appreciation~!

For the 4th year in a row, Machiya Residence Inn staff traveled to Sydney to spread the word about our machiya properties, conceptual ryokans, and boutique hotels in Kyoto and Kanazawa. Our staff decorated the booth with colorful photos of our properties, spoke to guests, and even created an interactive Japanese game for our matsuri event guests to participate in.

Over 500 guests stopped by our booth this year for a chance to win, and to learn more about Machiya Residence Inn. This year’s Grand Prize offered guests a chance to experience our accommodations in-person, with a complimentary 2-night stay in our machiya properties in Japan.

We had 6 Winners overall, and look forward to welcoming everyone to Japan in the new year!
