Situated in a residential area that once formed part of the high-ranking samurai district of the former Kaga Domain, this renovated, private machiya house provides guests with easy access to many of Kanazawa’s most iconic cultural sites, including Omicho Market, Kanazawa Castle, and the Higashi Chaya District—all within walking distance.
Suiki Machiya House features a unique layout comprised of 2 interconnected traditional machiya buildings: the omoya (main building) and the hanare (semi-detached annex). Spanning approximately 135 square meters, the buildings are joined by an internal corridor that creates a unified yet flexible space ideal for families and groups.
The house includes 4 bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms, a fully equipped modern kitchen, a spacious dining area, and a comfortable living room. With a mix of Western-style beds and Japanese-style futons, the house can accommodate up to 12 guests. Thoughtful architectural elements—including original fusuma sliding doors and views of two Japanese gardens—further enhance the traditional atmosphere.

The main bathroom includes a deep, Japanese-style soaking tub overlooking a Japanese garden, while the secondary shower area is located in the separate hanare wing, offering both functionality and privacy for group stays.
Guests staying at Suiki will have access to modern amenities, including free Wi-Fi, floor heating, air conditioning, a fully equipped kitchen, a washing machine with dryer, and bathroom amenities. Yukata, bath towels, and other conveniences are also provided to ensure a comfortable and seamless stay.

To celebrate the opening of Suiki, a limited-time Grand Opening Offer will be available via the MACHIYA RESIDENCE INN KANAZAWA official website. Bookings are now being accepted for stays beginning June 23, 2025. Suiki Machiya House combines the historical charm of Kanazawa with the comforts expected by today’s travelers, making it an ideal base for those seeking an authentic and immersive experience.
AJ INTERBRIDGE INC. remains committed to preserving cultural heritage through the revitalization of traditional Japanese architecture. With the opening of ‘Suiki’ Machiya House, we continue to expand our efforts to provide exceptional travel experiences rooted in local history and craftsmanship.
