In December 2024, MACHIYA RESIDENCE INN Kanazawa “Tokisora” opened as a private, one-group-per-day machiya holiday house located between two of Kanazawa’s major landmarks, Omicho Market and Kanazawa Castle Park. This renovated machiya townhouse offers guests a calm, comfortable space inspired by the seasonal beauty of Kanazawa.
Tokisora Machiya House features a living and dining area with a fully equipped kitchen, a tatami room, and a projector for in-house entertainment. The washroom and bathroom connect to a small inner garden and include two sinks, a spacious bathtub, a dedicated cold-water bath, and an in-house hinoki wood sauna for a refreshing sauna experience at any time (advance reservation required for our sauna experience).
The second floor offers both Western-style and Japanese-style bedrooms, along with an additional shower room and ample storage, making the house suitable for longer stays and group travel.
For larger groups, Tokisora can be booked together with the neighboring machiya MACHIYA RESIDENCE INN Kanazawa “Tokikaze”, accommodating up to 12 guests across both houses.
Situated within walking distance of Omicho Market, Kanazawa Castle Park, Oyama Shrine, and with convenient access to major sites such as Kenrokuen Garden and the 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, Tokisora offers an excellent base for exploring the city.
