Kyoto, Japan – March 15, 2026 – THE MACHIYA LOUNGE opens to guests of THE MACHIYA EBISUYA Hotel and the general public starting March 15, 2026.
Located right next door to the THE MACHIYA EBISUYA hotel in Kyoto city, THE MACHIYA LOUNGE is a centuries-old machiya townhouse officially designated as a Structure of Landscape Importance by Kyoto City. The space serves as both a breakfast venue and gathering space, featuring traditional Japanese architecture overlooking a Japanese garden.
New Breakfast Service
THE MACHIYA LOUNGE offers two breakfast options prepared by in-house chefs using seasonal and locally sourced ingredients:
The MACHIYA Traditional Breakfast (Japanese-style) A Kyoto-style breakfast built around homemade dashi, a slow-drawn broth of kombu and bonito fish.
The MACHIYA Panini Breakfast (Western-style) A hearty panini sandwich paired with specialty espresso, fresh salad, smoothie, and homemade granola.
Both breakfast options are available to hotel guests and the general public.
Exclusive Lounge Access for Hotel Guests
All new reservations at THE MACHIYA EBISUYA Hotel made from March 6, 2026 include daily breakfast and exclusive lounge access throughout their stay. The lounge offers a traditional Japanese space where guests can enjoy complimentary coffees and teas while overlooking the Japanese garden.
